Ernest L. "Dirty Ernie" Bussell
67 of Scotts, MI.
Went to be with our Lord Saturday June 21, 2014. Ernie was born December 17, 1946 in Kalamazoo MI; the son of Ernest A. and Lenora (Carter) Bussell. He lived most of his life in the Climax-Scotts area graduating with the class of 1965.
He was employed by Post Cereals, Battle Creek, MI. from graduation through his retirement in 2002. He served in the U.S Army during the Vietnam era from 1966 to 1969 and was a member and commander of the Climax American Legion Post 465.
He is survived by his former wife Vicki (Hull) Austin, Vicksburg, MI., daughter Kim Bussell, granddaughter Ashleigh McNees, and great grandson Randy Beach of Scotts, MI. Also surviving are sisters Sandra (Frank) Haywood, Nancy (Dan) Hoyt both of Battle Creek, MI. brother Michael Bussell, Shoemakersville, PA, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister DeVera (Debbie) McDaniel, a brother James (Jim) Bussell and a grandson Daniel (D.J.) McNees Jr.
Services will take place on Wednesday July 2, 2014. Ernie will take one last ride on his motorcycle with friends departing from the Climax Legion at 9:00AM, Interment will take place at 10:00am with Full Military Honors at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Pastor Dennis VeenKant, Richland, MI officiating.
Visitation with family will follow at The Climax American Legion. Memorial contributions can be made to the Climax American Legion care of Kim Bussell where they will be dispersed among the many programs he was passionate about.
