On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, God called Ethel home. Born April 8, 1929, the sixth child of Edward and Grace (Davis) Snook in Colon, Michigan. She graduated from Sturgis High School in 1947. 

In 1948 Ethel met and married Harold D Knapp. Together they had five children. Karen (Len) Jury of Ashtabula, OH, Bill (Pam) Knapp of Chesapeake, VA, Alan (Connie) Knapp, Lawton, MI, Dawn (Gregg) Johnson, Fort Wayne, IN, and Lynn (Ron) Brookman of Schoolcraft, MI. In February 1967 Ethel married Lewis W Brandt. 

Ethel spent most of her life working for the Upjohn Company in Portage, MI. First at Upjohn Home Healthcare and later as an Executive Secretary at the Upjohn Company (Pfizer). 

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, first in Sturgis, MI, then in Kalamazoo, MI. 

Ethel's greatest joy was her family. She also enjoyed the challenge of a puzzle; the competition of a card game; Bingo with friends and gardening. 

Preceding Ethel in death were her parents, siblings, two sons and her husband. She is survived by her three daughters, Karen, Dawn, and Lynn; two daughters-in-law, Connie (Ken) and Pam. Ethel is also survived by her 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews and their families. 

Ethel wished to be cremated. A memorial service for Ethel will be held at a later date. 

The Brandt family is being cared for by the Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Home and Cremation Society, 129 S Grand St, Schoolcraft, MI 49087, 269-679-5622.
