Ethel passed away Friday morning June 12th at Rose Arbor Hospice Care Facility in Kalamazoo after a short illness. Ethel was born in Climax Township, December 30, 1938 to Glenn and Mildred (Simmons) Forney. Ethel attended Climax-Scotts School and graduated in 1956. After graduation, she worked many years at the Shakespeare Company, Wes-Tab Office Supplies, and most recently at Wal-Mart, a job she dearly loved. In 1957 she was united in marriage to Clifford Town, in Angola Indiana. Ethel was a long time member of Elmwood Temple #88 Pythian Sisters of Scotts. Ethel loved People and "swapping tales" about almost anything with everyone. She is survived by a son Dwight, brothers Gordon, Bryant (Nila), and John (Carol) Forney, grand-sons; Jeremiah (Claire), and Dwight "D J" (Lynelle) Town, and five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Town, her parents Glenn and Mildred Forney, sisters Mildred "Leona" Tripp, and Bethel M Lindsey.
In accordance with Ethel's wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to attend an informal burial on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 10:00am at Harrison Cemetery in Climax Township. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Rose Arbor Hospice, Kalamazoo.
