Harrison, Mrs. Eva E. Portage, MI Mrs. Harrison passed away on December 9, 2009 after a long illness. The daughter of the late Ezra Geddings and Mildred (Walton) Geddings, Eva was born on April 29, 1934 in Mason City, IL. Eva was an avid bowler, having belonged to the same league for over 45 years. She loved gardening, and her home and yard were always adorned with plants and flowers that she maintained. She was extremely skilled at about any craft imaginable. If it was done with fabric, thread, yarn or paper, she had done it. Most notably, she was a doll clothes supplier for a local collector doll shop. She was an avid and quite successful bingo player as well. She held many positions in her career, most notably, several years as a records clerk at the Portage Police Department and in the Corporate Technical Library before retiring from what was then the Upjohn Company. Eva was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John Geddings and Sydney Geddings. Her late husband and love of her life, Neil C. Harrison, passed away in 2005 after a 53 year marriage. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Doris (the late William) Fields of Noel, MO, and brother, Gerald N. (Beverly) Geddings of Portage, two children, C. Edward (Michelle) Harrison and Deborah L. (Harry) Sabattis, three granddaughters, Melissa L. Harrison, Christine M. Harrison, and Stepanie A. Harrison, four step-grandchildren, David, Amanda, Havilah (MacInnes), and Michael Brockman, and 13 great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. There is a memorial service scheduled for Monday December 14, 2009 at 1 pm at Avink Funeral Home and Cremation Society, 129 S. Grand (US 131), Schoolcraft, MI.
