A dear mother and loving friend, Eva L. (Thompson) Myrick , 74, of Kalamazoo Michigan passed away in her home, surrounded by family on June 8th, 2021.
Born in Marshall Michigan, as an infant she was adopted by Vern and Louise Thompson and was an only child. She attended Portage Central High School. Her youth was spent riding horses, and roller skating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce R. Myrick.
Mrs. Myrick is survived by her son, Vern Myrick, her daughter Wanda Myrick, her adopted daughter Jan Fisher, and two step-daughters, Abby McBroon, and Audrey Blackwood. Many others also called Eva, Mom (too many to list). Her 6 treasured grandchildren include Trevor Myrick, Shannon Myrick, Amber Burns, Brian West, Stuart Brown and Lucas Brown. Several great grandchildren, cousins, including Jean Kerns, nieces, and nephews conclude the family.
Later in life, Eva located her biological family and is survived by her sister, Elva Broughman and two brothers and another sister. She cherished her newly discovered family.
Her interest included family, nature, fishing, animals, and especially dogs. She was a talented artist. She loved to make specials pieces for those she cared about. One of her favorite pass time was to watch her grandchildren play sports. Chatting with her friends was a priority, also.
She was charitable with her time—sometimes just listening. She was charitable with her
home—the door was always open. She was charitable with her heart—and that was always open, too.
Eva was a fighter. She was able to keep her Multiple Sclerosis at bay for decades. And, to the very she kept her hands and head up high.
To celebrate her life, a memorial service will be held at:
