Florence L. Murray, age 94, of Marcellus, MI passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015.
She was born August 31, 1921 in Danville, IL the daughter of James Frank and Agnes (Ambrose) and stepmother Anna (Ambrose) Bailey. On May 5, 1945 in Detroit, MI, she married Lloyd W. Murray who survives.
An avid, life-long learner, Florence studied French, Italian and Chinese for some of the trips to over 40 countries she and her husband of 70 years, Lloyd, visited. She taught for years at Marcellus Elementary School and was a long-time member of the Hudson Memorial Building board. Besides travel, in her free time she enjoyed college football, weaving and above all, spending time with her family.
Surviving besides her husband Lloyd, are two daughters, Nancy (Dave) Murray of Whitting, IN and Linda Murray of Portage, MI; two sons, Paul Murray of Bristol, R.I. and Bruce (Cathy) Murray of Kalamazoo, MI; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, James L. Murray and one daughter, Carol M. Huff.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 PM Saturday, November 14, 2015 in the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus.
Memorial Services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, November 15, 2015 in the Marcellus United Methodist Church.
