Florence Clara Silver

SILVER, Florence Allegan Our beloved mother, Florence Silver, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, February 26, with four of her children who reside in Michigan by her side. Florence was originally from the North Dorr area and moved to Allegan after meeting our recently deceased dear ole dad, Joseph Silver. They had met 70 years ago at a soda fountain in Allegan. She was the youngest woman in the state of Michigan during the early 40's to graduate from Cosmetology school. She then went on to open her own beauty salon in Allegan before devoting her time to raising her children. In later years, she also performed volunteer work for a nursing home, assisting the elderly with handicrafts and cutting hair. Throughout her life she was always a loving mother who sacrificed a great deal for her family. Like our father, she was very protective and did not tolerate any sort of injustice toward her family or others. She is survived by her sister, Anna Marie and her seven children: Michael, Sue, Pamela, Stephen, Aaron, Daniel, Lisa, as well as grandchildren Cecily, David, Andrew, Jason, Vincent, & Jacob, and several great-grandchildren.
