Frances M. DeMoor

Frances DeMoor 2/29/1924 – 8/16/2020 Fran was born in Shelby, Michigan in Feb. 1924 to Clarence and Rena Fye. Moved to Kalamazoo as a young girl and lived the rest of her long and happy life in Kalamazoo. She was a musician at a very early age. Fran became a professional marimba player in Kalamazoo Centrals concert band. She met Jack her husband of fifty three year from high school band. After the war, they were married. Fran was an avid lover of animals. Fran and Jack had two boys Terry (deceased) and Tim, four grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fran retired from the Kalamazoo Gazette after twenty five years as the switch board operator. She lived with her son Tim and his wife Robin was Fran’s main caregiver. Fran was happy at being Ninety Six and having all her friends com over to see her. She passed away early Sunday morning very peacefully with Tim and Robin at her bedside.
