Frank Wood

Frank Alvin Wood passed away at home Sunday, November 19, 2023 at the age of 90.

Mr. Wood was born January 24, 1933, in Otsego, as the fifth of ten children of Golda and Alvin Wood. His sister, Patricia Haiti survives. 

He graduated from Otsego High School where he met and subsequently married Virginia Titus until her death in December of 1998.  Frank and Virginia had 5 children.  Surviving are Bruce (Angela) Wood of Schoolcraft and Vicki Wood of Munford, TN.  He was preceded in death by Kenneth Wood, Wayne (Donnita) Wood, and Londa (Michael) Bassett.

Throughout his life he served in the military in the Navy and also Army Reserve.  He was also an over the road truck driver until his retirement.  After retirement, he travelled all over the US while completing mission work with MAPS.  He also loved his ham radio.  He also liked to read the newspaper for obituaries.  He spent a lot of time researching genealogy to put together a family tree.

Mr. Wood found love again and married Lois Bauman October 16, 1999 who survives.  They shared an amazing life and a beautiful blended family.  Through this union, Mr. Wood gained 5 step children.  Lois Gene (David) Martin, Winnie (Fred) Garza, Peggy (Jerry) Merrill survive.  He was preceded in death by Carl (Diane) Bauman, and Roy (Lorrie) Bauman.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, 16 step grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish countless memories of his smile and sense of humor for years to come.
