Frederick Dale Weaver

Frederick Dale Weaver, age 86, formerly of Kalamazoo, passed away at the Hospice House of Holland on May 21 , 2012. Fred was born on May 16, 1926 in Newton Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army and Navy and earned degrees from Western Michigan University and the University of Michigan. Fred had a long career at the Kalamazoo County Health Department, from which he retired in 1986. In 1948 Fred married Priscilla Nycum, who preceded him in death in 1985. Fred married Jean Jenkins in 1990, who also preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his parents Rose and Lyman Weaver, sisters Juanita and Mary, and brothers Lloyd, Max, and Verne. Fred will be dearly missed by his children Kurt (Billie) Weaver, Garth (Peg) Weaver, and Amy (Rick) Sikkenga, along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fred is survived by his sister Ethel Studham, sisters-in-law Carolyn and Ruth Nycum, and many extended family members including Dan (Young Mi) Jenkins, Jeff (Beth) Jenkins, Ron (Heidi) Jenkins, and Lynn Armfield. A memorial service will be held on Friday June 1, 2012 at 11am at First Baptist Church, 315 W. Michigan, Kalamazoo, MI. Following the service a military ceremony will be held at 1:30pm at the Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd., Augusta, MI.
