Gary Dean Lusk

My Husband, Gary Dean Lusk, left us this day, October 30, 2019 and enter his spirit world. This is not a typical obituary because Gary Lusk was not a typical man. Gary was a very happy man and when greeted would always say "I'm marvelous!" And he was. Gary loved his life and he lived his life his way and on his own terms. You knew exactly where you stood with him and he was so boisterous and fun. So in keeping with his wishes and the spirit of my best friend, I have written: From the moment he was born on an Air Force base in Ohio on March 21, 1956 to Garland Edward Lusk and Vacie Mae (Walker) Lusk and raised in Constantine, he forged his own path in this world. Gary loved being a father and grandfather. His pride and joy was our son Matthew Dean Lusk, where Gary so loved watching him grow and prosper in sports and academics as a young boy and teenager and had so much pride in the man, husband and father he is today. He was so proud of the work ethic he hoped he helped inspire in Matthew as he is becoming an important part of his own work place. He was also happy at the husband he is to his wife Kristi Anglemyer Lusk and overjoyed with the grandsons they gave us and loved the father he became with his own sons Tre Rowe and Bryce Lusk. Again, Gary was a fun guy but I never heard him belly laugh as he did when our grandsons were little. He looked forward to taking the boys all over to parks and outdoors places as we were know as the outside grandparents. As I edit this I am happy to report that his daughter Mindy Kae or Minge as he used to call her, came to see him just days before he passed and he was overjoyed that she came and talked to him and gave him a hug. She also gave him three more grand kids, but sadly he never got to know them as he so wanted too. Again, Gary lived his life on his terms but that life was cut way too short. Thank you Mindy for the joy you brought to him that day. Gary also loved and was inspired by his big brother Greg Lusk. Those two boys would talk on the phone several times a week and gossip and solve all the world problems as only brothers could do. And as much as his big brother was inspirational, his love for his little brother Barry Lusk was exasperational because he never did what he told him he would do and that drove Gary crazy nuts, he had so much fun with Barry. He loved spending time with his brothers as often as he could and recently spent some time with his sister Vicky too and what fun stories they told of their crazy childhood. I must also mention the man that Gary looked up to the most and who taught him the work ethics he had worked by and who's opinion mattered to him almost as much as his own, his mentor, his uncle, Ed Walker. Gary loved spending time with his friends and we were lucky to have been part of a fun filled, eclectic tribe of people whom we spent countless weekends, holidays and vacations with, affectionately known as "The Hoofers". This group of people included self-made millionaires and kind people that would give you the borrowed shirt off of their back, if needed. Gary was rare in that he loved his job, he loved building houses and creating things where nothing was before and altering the planet for hundreds of years with his work The man was so smart, creative and talented but ended up having to retire early and always missed going to the job site. And as for me, I fell in love with this man after the first sarcastic remark he said to me and his mischievous brilliant blue eyes. He has been my whole world since 1988, and is the wind beneath my wings to always hold me up. I am forever honored that he chose me to walk his path with him and share his life, his loves and help create the world he loved that we lived in. Some only know me as Mrs. Gary and I am proud of that, but I'm also known as Bridgette (Bonine) Lusk. There is a song out that says my heart will go on, that is not correct for me, my life will go on but my heart will forever be with my husband, my best friend Gary Dean Lusk. There will be a bonfire celebration of life event as soon as we can get it all planned out as he wanted and will be posted on Facebook. Lastly, Gary heard at our Kristi's grandfathers funeral, a saying that stayed with him and it went something like; I heard once that a man dies twice, once when his body breaths its last breath and the second time when the last person says his name. Please join me in saying his name, a farewell and God Bless to the wonderfully always himself, Gary Lusk.
