Gerald Marion Griffin

Gerald Marion Griffin, of Martin, MI passed away peacefully on October 3, 2020. He was born on November 4, 1928 in Morley, MI the son of Lewis and Murma (McKune) Griffin. He was united in holy matrimony with the love of his life Marie Gettys on July 29, 1955. From that marriage four beautiful children were born: Ruth (Buzz) Powless, Sandra Harris, Judith (Maurice) Ploude, Gerald D. “Brother” (Mary Jo) Griffin; Fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren. Gerald is preceded in his passing by his loving wife Marie; his parents: Lewis and Murma; his brothers: Sardis and Addison Griffin; his sister: Lois Neal; and son in-law: Jim “Jimbo” Harris. Gerald worked for MacVean Farms in Martin, MI for fifty-four years and over the course of that time they became like family to Gerald, especially Ron and Sandy MacVean and their son: Doug. Funeral services for Gerald will take place at McCowen & Secord Funeral Home, Marshall-Gren Chapel, 120 South Woodhams, Plainwell, MI 49080 (269-685-5881) with Gerald’s family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 and a celebration of life taking place on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Chad Griffin officiating. Interment will take place at South Martin Cemetery following the service.
