Gerald Raymond Hodgson

Gerald (Jerry) Hodgson, 89, of Pekin, IL died May 3, 2022, at Heritage Community’s rehabilitation center in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born December 11, 1932, in Pekin, IL as the older of two siblings to Raymond and Irene Hodgson.

While enjoying a long career at Pekin Insurance as Vice President, Jerry oversaw the Bond Department and planned company trips for top selling agents.  Nearly all trips took place at Marriott Resorts across the U.S and renowned fishing trips in Canada.  He loved planning the trips and had lots of fond memories of the agents and the staff of Pekin Insurance.

Jerry enjoyed giving back.  He was involved for years in fundraising for St. Jude and the United Way.  He was a past board member at Pekin Country Club, Pekin Community High School, and the Chicago District Golf Association.

He was a passionate Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan, along with the Fighting Illini basketball team.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Joan Hodgson, his parents, and his brother Charles (Chuck) Hodgson. He is survived by his son Michael Hodgson (Steve Brown); daughter Julie Hodgson (Chris Yamaya); son Jeffery Hodgson (Martha Ongley); and his beloved grandchildren Kyle and Lea Hodgson.

Jerry’s family would like to thank all the staff at Heritage Community for their loving and compassionate care.

Cremation rites have been conducted and per Jerry’s request there will be no services.
