Gladys Ila Havens

HAVENS, Gladys Ila Kalamazoo Passed away Feb. 15, 2013 in Kalamazoo. Gladys was born Feb. 22, 1929 in Barry Twp. the daughter of Ray and Lena (Willison) Durkee. She was united in marriage to Harold Havens on June 13, 1953 in Angola, IN, who preceded her in death on May 1, 1989. Also her parents and a brother, Charles. Gladys loved being with her family, working outside in the flowers and feeding the birds and squirrels, also caring for her lovable cats, Boots and later Bailey. Surviving are 2 sons, Bart of Schoolcraft, Rod (Teresa) of Marcellus and a special daughter Melanie of Kalamazoo, 2 granddaughters; Lisa Hull of Portage and Melissa (Andrew) Pingel of Portage and 1 grandson; Andrew of Portage, 4 great grandsons; Ethan, Nolan and Reid Hull of Schoolcraft and Bradley Havens, 1 great grandson (Riley) due March 23. a sister; Irene (Eugene) Garrett of Grand Rapids. At her request cremation has taken place. Burial of cremains will take place at Schoolcraft Cemetery. Memorial service will be held at a later date.
