Glen Dodge

Glen L. Dodge, of August passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the age of 77. Glen was born on November 1, 1943 in Battle Creek, MI. He was the son of Hollis and Agnes (Biggs) Dodge. Glen went through Galesburg-Augusta Schools and graduated from Galesburg-Augusta High School with the Class of 1961. For work he owned Glen's Pens in which he hand-crafted fine writing instruments. Prior to that he worked for nine years as a truck driver for B&B Trucking for the postal service, and spent time in sales with sporting equipment and for Nextel. He was eclectic and his hobbies included hunting and fishing and a variety of craft including calligraphy. At one point Glen served on the Galesburg-Augusta School Board; and cared about the community. His family will remember him as strong-willed, life of the party, master storyteller, eloquent, excellent father, and a person where you always knew where you stood with him. Glen is survived by his two sons: Hunter (Melinda Frantz-Dodge) Dodge, of East Leroy; Travis (Jennifer) Dodge, of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren: Kiersten, Autumn and Cole; one great grandson: Morgan; brother: Greg (Wendy) Dodge, of VA and brother-in-law: John Bell, Jr. He is preceded in death by his parents: Hollis and Anges Dodge; and his sister: Susan Bell.
