Glenn A. Birman, 72, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on April 8, 2014. He was born in 1941 in Nashville, Michigan to Orvin and Vada Birman. He graduated high school from School for the Blind in Lansing, Michigan and then went on to attend Pine Lake Vocational Center in Chicago for Broadcasting.
Glenn enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He always looked forward to family gatherings as well as weekly phone calls from family and friends. Glenn had a love for music and would often spend his time listening to all different genres. He was very knowledgeable about the artist and music. Glenn also took up the same passion as his father, in watching old western movies. He used his broadcasting skills as a HAM radio operator; it was his way of meeting new people and communicating with friends. Another passion of Glenn's was electronics. He enjoyed tinkering with them and finding ways to make them work better. Glenn resided at Springview Towers, in Battle Creek for the last 20 years, where he developed many great friendships.
Glenn is survived by many nieces and nephews in Michigan, Colorado, and Florida along with many great-nieces and nephews; brother in law, Ron (Joanne) Kloack; sister in law Norma Birman; and many cousins and two aunts. Glenn always talked about his loving and supporting family.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Orvin and Vada Birman; sister Connie Kloack; brother Ken Birman; and grandparents on both the Hoffman and Birman side.
Graveside service will be held on Monday April 14, 2014 at 11am at Dowling Cemetery in Dowling, Michigan.
