Gloria Honor Shumaker

Gloria Honor Shumaker, age 89, of Plainwell, went to the arms of her Savior on July 18, 2021. Gloria was born on May 10, 1932, in Allegan, MI. to Ted and Mabel (Daniels) Adams. Gloria is survived by her children: Ken (Cindy) Shumaker, Cherie Brown, Linda (Rich) Beverly, Rodney (Amanda) Shumaker; 25 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; her brother George Adams; her sister-in-law Barb Adams as well as several nieces and nephews. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Shumaker; her sister Trula (Earl) Bensinger; her brother Ned Adams; sister-in-law MaryLou Adams and her son-in-law Dean Brown. Gloria graduated from KVCC in 1982. She worked at Borgess hospital for several years. She enjoyed annual reunions at Warren Dunes State Park. Gloria loved to travel, had a heart for Missions. She volunteered for over 15 years with Gull Lake Bible Conference Ladies Days. Gloria was a lifetime member of 1st Baptist Church in Plainwell where she was incredibly involved. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 24 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church; 404 W. Bridge Street in Plainwell. A celebration of life service will follow at 2:00 at the same location.
