Glorraine "Glory" Pauline Bragg, a beloved member of the Vicksburg, MI community, passed away on April 9, 2024, at the age of 91, surrounded by the love of her family and the compassionate staff at Centrica Care Navigators at Rose Arbor. Glory's life was a tapestry of hard work, dedication, and unwavering love for her family.
Born in Chicago, IL on April 26, 1932, Glory's family later moved to Marion, IN where she spent her formative years. She graduated from Marion High School with the Class of 1950 and was known for her involvement in an Accordion Ensemble during her high school years.
After marrying the love of her life, Rex Bragg, on June 6, 1953, in Marion, IN amongst their closest family and friends, Glory embarked on a fulfilling career journey. Initially working various jobs in Indiana including as a telephone operator and car hop before moving to Fulton with Rex when he took a job transfer with General Motors. There she found her passion as a bus driver for Vicksburg Community Schools and eventually worked her way up to become the Administrative Assistant for the Assistant Superintendent of the school district before retiring.
Beyond her professional achievements, Glory was immensely proud of her Hungarian heritage. She was known for her culinary skills and delighted in preparing family favorites such as spaghetti, deviled eggs, and potato salad. However, it was perhaps her warm personality that touched the lives of many - she was fondly remembered as a hugger who shared love through embracing everyone she met until the very end.
In addition to her career and culinary talents, Glory had various hobbies which included reading, knitting, and sewing. Her kind spirit and unwavering faith in God were evident to all who knew her - described as compassionate, supportive, forgiving, and loving by those closest to her.
Glory's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her lifelong partnership with Rex. Together they built a remarkable legacy for their family based on love and dedication that will endure through generations.
