Gordon Leigh Worst

Gordon Leigh Worst, age 91, passed away at Friendship Village Health Center on May 04, 2021. Gordon was born October 09, 1929 to John and Dorothy (Weber) Worst at home in Kalamazoo. He lived most of his life in Galesburg, before moving to Friendship Village in 2014. Gordon married Dorene (Thomas) in 1947. Together they raised 4 children. They were married for over 60 years before her passing in 2008. He was a farmer and worked at what is now Graphic Packaging (formerly Brown Co) for 35 years before retiring. Gordon loved to head north to Dighton Mi to visit family and hunt. After his retirement he enjoyed buying old cars and attending car shows with family. He liked to go watch the guys bowl and kept them entertained by telling jokes and stories, and burping. Gordon also loved to fish, watch game shows and read. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorene, son Jim (Hoss), sister and brother-in-law, Margean (Worst) and Edward Gladysz, and grandson Steven Worst. Surviving are son Marc (Pam) Worst, daughters LouAnn (Lon) Grover, Dorrenne (John Lee) Worst. Grandsons, Marc II (Catherine)Worst, John (Barbara) Shimel, and Jay (Oksana) Ball. Great Grandchildren, Aurora and Jacob Worst and Grace Worst, and Amber and Nathan Shimel. Niece Margean Gladysz, and nephew John (Janet Bluemel) Gladysz. Cremation has taken place and no service or visiting will take place. A special thank you to staff in the Health Center at Friendship Village and Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
