Gregory Donald Chappie

Gregory Donald Chappie, age 70, of Plainwell, MI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Born on April 7, 1954, in Detroit, MI, he was the son of Clarence and Alexandria (Wrona) Chappie.

Gregory was a proud graduate of Cass Technical High School in Detroit. He furthered his education at Western Michigan University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He called Plainwell home, where he built a life centered around love for his family and a deep passion for hockey. Whether attending games or watching from home, Gregory’s enthusiasm for the sport never waned, and he enjoyed sharing his avid collector’s spirit with those closest to him.

Gregory cherished time spent with his sons and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alexandria, as well as his beloved sons Alexander Chappie and Matthew Chappie, and his brother Clarence Chappie. He is survived by his son, Gregory Scott Chappie, his sister, Madelaine Evans, and his loyal companion, his dog Kane, who brought him great joy in his later years.

Gregory’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Warner Vineyards, 706 South Kalamazoo St, Paw Paw, MI 49079 on January 25th from 12pm-4pm.
