Gregory Allen Smith

GREGORY ALLEN SMITH Gregory Smith, age 42, of Portage, passed away peacefully at Bronson Hospital on May 8, 2010. Greg was born on September 15, 1967 in Kalamazoo, the son of Gary and Judyth (Linders) Smith. He was a graduate of Portage Central High School and KVCC. Greg spent the best portion of his professional career in the automotive and paper industries with companies like Aero-Motive, SPX, and Lewis Paper. He was a devoted fan of the Detroit Lions, Pistons, Red Wings, and especially the Tigers. His hobbies included softball, camping, backpacking, fishing and golf. Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents and two uncles. Surviving are both of his parents, brothers Jeffrey (Kimmy) Smith of Kalamazoo and Brian (Nicole) Smith of Lawton, and three cherished nephews Nathan, Tyler, and Jack Smith, also of Lawton. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Memorial contributions can be made to Lakeland Reformed Church in Vicksburg or the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends and family on Thursday May 13 at 6:00-8:00 at Lakeland Reformed Church 10442 Sprinkle Road Vicksburg, MI 49097., and the funeral service will be on Friday May 14th, also at Lakeland Reformed Church at 11:00 A.M.
