Greig Holdridge

Greig Allen Holdridge, 63, of Portage, Michigan, passed away August 6th, 2024, at Bronson Hospital. He was born on July 12th, 1961, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Gordon Lee Holdridge, Sr. and Carolyn S. (Long) Rich. He was a 1979 graduate of Vicksburg High School. Following graduation, Greig enlisted in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Coral Sea. He took great pride in serving his country and never missed the opportunity to thank fellow veterans for their service. Greig always had something to say. He was an animated jokester with a big voice and hearty laugh. We’ve likely all experienced him entering a room with a big wave and a loud “happy to see me”. He loved life and desperately wanted more of it. He was a devoted Lions fan and he and Donna attended Thanksgiving Day games for many years. Greig was employed at Pfizer for the last several years and frequently expressed his good fortune in working for a “great company with wonderful people”. When well, he was an avid golfer and could be found on the golf course with longtime friend Paul Hamilton at the break of dawn every weekend. Greig loved his Harleys. Whether riding through the Colorado mountains with his best friend Andy Harvey or making a simple trip to the store, he loved the freedom and brotherhood of riding. Greig loved all God’s creatures. His boy Tommy and neighbor Boo held a special place in his heart. Greig embraced all those he loved as family. In addition to his devoted mother Carolyn S. Rich, Greig is survived by his love, Donna “Mae” Duggan, stepdaughters Cassandra Duggan of Portage, MI, and Nikki (Josh) Graham of Chase, MI. Sister, Tammy L. (Alan L.) Jackson of Longview, Texas. Brothers Terrance L. Rich of Longview, Texas and Gordon Lee Holdridge, Jr. of Kalamazoo. Grandsons Gavin Brennan (Caitlin Parks) of Grand Rapids, Bryce Dube of Pierson, David Brennan of Pierson and Ethan Hubbard of Portage. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Best friend Andy Harvey of Vicksburg and Paul Hamilton of Vicksburg. His Pfizer family, who were so supportive during his illness and rallied to his side with compassion and encouragement in his final days. The entire Walsworth family whom he treasured. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Gordon Lee Holdridge, Sr., Stepfather, David J. Rich, Grandmothers Ruby A. Long and Kathryn Holdridge, grandfathers Vestal Z. Long “Poppy” and Gerald Holdridge. We’ll love and miss you forever. Save us a seat, doll.
