Harriet B. Powell

Harriett B. Powell, age 91, of Marcellus, MI passed away April 9, 2015.
She was born June 16, 1923 in Porter Township, Van Buren County MI, the daughter of Elmer Lee and Lillian Agnes (Nye) Kinney. On August 29, 1943 in Lawton, MI she married Ernest “Steve” Powell and he preceded her in death.
She has been a resident of Marcellus since 1945 and was a Life Member of Ideal Chapter No. 167 O.E.S. and a member of Past Matrons Club. Harriet attended the Marcellus United Methodist church, was formerly employed at Terrill’s Market, Phillips Industries (Tailormade Inc.) and Cree Coaches in Marcellus.
Surviving are two daughters, JoAnn (Richard) Kahler of Marcellus and Judith (Eric) Singley of Edwardsburg, MI; one son, Rock (Mary Kay) Powell of Marcellus; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and a brother
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 P.M. Sunday, April 12, 2015 in the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, April 13, 2015 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Marcellus Cemetery.
