Helen Jean Whitman, a longtime resident of Constantine, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 9, 2020 at the age of 67. She was born in Goshen, Indiana on December 6, 1952. She retired from Sigma Wire in Elkhart, Indiana.
Helen loved the Lord and attended church at Christian Fellowship Center in Sturgis for many years. She was all about family and her world revolved around them. She cherished her role as a devoted wife, mom and nanny to her family and she loved to fill her days surrounded by them. She enjoyed camping and taking family vacations to Tennessee, Florida and other places. The holidays were her favorite and she loved to cook for her family. Her favorite color was purple or lavender and her favorite food was chicken dumplings with sweet tea. Helen loved and adored her two dogs Sophie and Teka.
She was always willing to help anyone that she could. You couldn't help but smile and be happy when you were around her. Helen will be missed more than words can express.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years Barry Whitman; children: Hotrod Whitman and Sissy (Terry); cousin: Wendy (Donnie) Lowrey; grandchildren: Ashley (Allen) Binkley, Alexis, Haylie, and Donavin Lowery; great-grandchild: Josie Binkley; brothers: David Beardsley and Jim Beardsley; and sister: Tammy Tessman. She is proceeded in death by her parents Melvin and Velma Beardsley and sister Joyce Smith.
Al celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 3:00pm at Christian Fellowship Center in Sturgis.
