Ray Rothlisberger
“Big Ray”
Ray, age 77, was called home to the Lord on Oct. 19, 2020. Big Ray was born on July 9, 1943 to Henry & Molly (Schildt) Rothlisberger. Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Marcene; his children: Susan Loftus, Laurie (Scott) Hatella, Deborah Peterson, Ray Rothlisberger, Craig (Julie) Lewis and Brett (Pam) Lewis; his sister Donna (David) Sherwood; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Janice Castner.
Ray spent his career in the guitar string manufacturing industry. He worked for Gibson, Dean Markley, Kaman and GHS Strings.
Big Ray loved to fish. He was a talented musician who played many musical instruments including the guitar, saxophone, bass and drums.
Big Ray always had a smile for everyone. He loved a good joke and his laugh was infectious. He was a great cook; making cookies, bread and was a boss on the grill.
He was a long-time member of the Premiers, a popular Illinois band. Big Ray was a devoted family man who adored his wife. He loved to spend time with the grand and great grand kids.
