SEARLES, Homer Nathan Allegan Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on May 18, 2012. Homer was born in Westchester Massachusetts on November 17, 1921, to Albert Searles and Almeda (Peck) Searles. He served in the US Navy during WWII as an Aviation Medalsmith, First Class, V6. He retired from UpJohn (Pfizer) in 1983. He worked as a driver for Toyota until 2007. He was preceded in death by his son David H. Searles Sr., sister Lillian (Searles) Cook and lifelong friend James (Whitey) Johns. He is survived by his children Bruce D. Searles of Kalamazoo, Denise A. Searles of Allegan, Yvonne E. Mihalek of Portage, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. There will be a private burial at Fort Custer at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Salvation Army or Military organization of your choice. Friends may leave a message and pictures for the family at www.avinkcremation.com.
