Iliah Dahlquist

Iliah B. Dahlquist, of Lawton passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the age of 97. Iliah was born on December 11, 1922 in Palmer, IA. She was the daughter of Thomas and Rose (Mullens) Ellis. Later after high school In 1946 Iliah married Paul Dahlquist. She loved her job as a school secretary at Milham Elementary. She also enjoyed her time at her lake house on Eagle Lake and tending to her garden, In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and taking care of everyone she knew. Caring for others included cooking things for people in the neighborhood to make their days just a little better. Iliah was a faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Paw Paw. Iliah will be remembered as a kind-hearted soul, sweet, gracious, generous, caring, loyal, and selfless person that will be missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her two children: Tom Dahlquist, of Lawton; Patricia “Patti” (Scott) Christman of AL; Gan (Karin) Starling, seven grandchildren: Sierra Welty, Logan Dahlquist, Rachel Reist-Dill, Laura Beidleman, John Christman, and Nic Culver; 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Iliah is preceded in death by her husband Paul; parents: Thomas and Rose Ellis; and two brothers: Harley Ellis and Melvin Ellis. Iliah has been cremated and there are no services scheduled at this time. Any memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
