Jack Shilts

Shilts passed away February 28, 2020 at Borgess Hospital with his wife and family by his side. He was born August 26, 1934 in Kalamazoo MI. to Fred and Enid Shilts. Jack graduated from Battle Creek Lakeview High School in 1952. He later went on to attend Western Michigan University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1965. Jack put his degree into practice and devoted the next 30 years of his life to teaching. He taught science for 12 of those years at Bloomingdale Public Schools and the remaining 18 at Parchment Public Schools. Jack was united in marriage, to the love of his life, Deloris Ann Replogle, on August 18, 1962. Jack was an avid reader and golfer, however his favorite pastime was traveling, his beloved wife by his side. Jack is survived by his wife, of 57 years, Deloris; their 3 children, Paul Shilts, Kay (Marty) Moon, and Maryann (Kim) Miller-Nowak; by his 3 grandchildren, Ashley (Dan) Smith, Richard (Whitney) Crowden, and Alyssa Moon. Jack is also survived by his 4 great grandchildren, David, Jeremiah, James and Aubrey. A celebration of life date will be determined and announced at a later time.
