Jack Walton

Jack Walton, 84, of Vicksburg, died from a lingering illness peacefully in his sleep on January 5, 2025. He was born on June 7, 1940, in East Jordan, Michigan, the son of the late Gerald Ray and Ella Mae (Goodwill) Walton. Jack attended Schoolcraft High School and worked for many years prior to retirement as a truck driver for Jet Transit. Jack served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963. He spent 13 months in South Korea during which he was deployed at the DMC, camped in tents in the cold Korean winter, the first line of defence to deter an attack from the Army of North Korea. Jack throughout his life was a proud military veteran, a patriot who loved his country. He was an amazing story-teller, funny and droll, who would leave his friends and family in stitches after listening to one of his many “adventures.” He was a hard worker, a devoted family man, loving father and a loyal friend.

Jack is survived by the love of his life, Vicki, his wife of 64 years; daughters, Joni Walton, Janet (Jim) Logan; his sister, Jean Hutchins; grandchildren Jade DeHollander (Matt), Pablo Pena and many great grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Ella Mae; his brother, Jerry Walton and his sisters, Ruth Shelton and Rita Erdos. Honoring his wishes, there will not be any formal services.

Donations to his name can be made to Centrica Care Navigators Online (Hospice)
