James “Bimbo” Edward Kelley

James “Bimbo” Edward Kelley, age 72, of Marcellus, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019, at home surrounded by his family.
James was born in Lawrence County, Alabama on November 14, 1946, the son of Henry Jackson Kelley and Cary Lacy (Terry) Kelley.
James mainly worked construction as a laborer. He worked for Burt Hovenkamp from Liberty Auto Parts and Eagle Auto Parts for many years. To many he was known as “Bimbo” which he said he was named by his little sister, from the song “Bimbo” by Jim Reeves. He enjoyed fishing, working with his hands while he listened to old country music, and “rolling dice” playing Craps. He was an excellent cook and carried on the tradition from his mother’s for his biscuits & gravy, pinto beans, and cornbread.
James is survived by one daughter: Ericka J. Kelley, granddaughter Madison Payne and grandson Aiden Payne, three sisters Frances Mearing of Marcellus, Wanda Mead of Sturgis, Sandy Davis of Three Rivers,...
