James B. Doll of Kalamazoo passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born in Chicago, IL on April 14, 1950, the son of Richard and Rosemary (Gramm) Doll.
A dedicated and skilled CNC machinist, Jim built a long and successful career with Parker Hannifin Pneumatics Division before retiring. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in everything he did, both professionally and personally.
Beyond his career, Jim had a deep passion for music. A talented drummer, he played in many bands throughout his life, including alongside his son Richard in the 33rd Street Band. He also shared his gift in church, serving as a praise band drummer. His love for rhythm and performance was a defining part of who he was.
Jim had an adventurous spirit, racing motorcycles in his younger years and later finding joy in RC car racing. He also loved playing golf with his sons, always giving his all to his interests—never halfway, always full in.
He cherished his family deeply. He was a devoted father to James and Richard (Cristal) and a proud grandfather to Landen and Evangelina (Eva).
Jim will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and friend, as well as an incredible musician. He leaves behind a legacy of passion, dedication, and love. Now he’s playing his next gig on drums in heaven.
He is preceded in his passing by his parents and sister Jere Lou.
