On the weekends he enjoyed going to the race track with his good friend Virgil Hopwood. He and his wife loved to travel and take spur of the moment overnight trips to Michigan casinos. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, one sister, one brother and his special dog, Rufus. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon, and their two sons Robert Fess of Scotts, MI and Matthew (Brittney) Fess of Vicksburg, MI, and his beautiful granddaughter, Clara Marie Fess, and his cat Fluffs.
