James “Jim” Robert Grames

James “Jim” R. Grames, age 79, of Jones, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020 in Three Rivers.

He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on September 2, 1941 the son of George and Rose (Sitar) Grames.

On July 20, 1963, in Jones, Michigan he married Betty Jean Daughtery who survives.

Jim liked to work hard and play harder, he worked for many years for MDOT, in Jones, as a highway worker. Jim was a Past Fire Chief of Newberg Fire Department. He enjoyed stock car racing, diving, riding his motorcycle and snowmobiles.

Jim is survived by his, wife of 57 years, Betty; one daughter Brenda Grames of Three Rivers; one son Jeffrey (Pamela) Grames of Milan, Ohio; three grandchildren Dustin Grames, Victoria Grames, Keagan Grames; two sisters Charlene (Ted) Paddock of Brighton, MI , Phyllis Baker of Shipshewana; two brothers David (Jennifer) Grames of Three Rivers, Greg Grames, of Marcellus; and one step-brother Tom (Virginia)Ball of Constantine.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; one step-brother Doug Ball and sister-in-law Klover Grames.

Cremation has taken place. a visitation and Celebration of life will be held at Poes Cemetery in Jones, Michigan on July 10, 2021 at 11:30am.
