James Joseph Hokanson, 60 of Marcellus, Michigan passed away Thursday November 17, 2022 in Kalamazoo Michigan.

James was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 3, 1961 the son of Eugene Carl Hokanson and Opal Lula (Barker) Hokanson.

James coached youth football with the Orland Park Pioneers in Orland Park, IL for 25 years, and was married for 25 years to Lora Pauls (Kap).

James enjoyed roller-skating, it was a big part of his life when he was younger. He was a huge Notre Dame fan. He loved and bragged on his children and grandchildren. He always reached out to his friends, was a unique dresser, loved his hats, and was a huge Pepsi drinker.

James is survived by his son; Dakota (Jenna) Hokanson of Lockport IL; daughter; Abby (Tommy) Boling of Sussex, WI; brothers Robbie Hokanson of Marcellus MI, Carl Hokanson of Oak Forest, IL, and Allen Hokanson of FL; sister Jean (Roy) Burch of Tinley Park IL, grandchildren; Scarlett, Elaine, Dean, and Garrett Boling.

James is preceded in death by his mother Opal.
