James Edward Sinclair

Jim was born August 1st, 1932 in Hannibal, MO to Ernest and Etta Sinclair. He was their fifth child. He was 80 years old when he passed away peacefully in his home in Vicksburg after a long illness. Jim joined the US Navy in 1950 after graduating Mexico High School. He was honorably discharged in 1954 and moved to Michigan with his brother Robert and sister in law Mary Sinclair. Jim was soon employed at Simpson Paper Mill where he retired after working 36 years. While Jim was working at Simpson, he was active with their softball team both playing and managing the team. In 1998 Jim moved to Cadillac to enjoy his retirement. While there he enjoyed playing cards, shooting darts, playing shuffle board and going mushroom hunting. He was a lifetime member of the AmVets 110 and the VFW Athens Post 5319 while also being a member of the American Legion in Lake City. In 1999, Jim married his best friend Joyce 'Dills' Sinclair. The two of them enjoyed taking casino trips and watching the Detroit tigers. In 2011, they moved back to Vicksburg to be closer to family. im is survived by his wife Joyce 'Dills' Sinclair, his children David (Ruth) Sinclair of Battle Creek, Diane Sinclair of Three Rivers, and Nancy (Wayne) Martin of Three Rivers as well as 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his three step children Randy Bright of Neveda, Deb (Vern) Bright-Overweg of Vicksburg, and Pam (Norm) Overweg of Vicksburg and 4 grandchildren. His surviving siblings are Russell (Wanda) Sinclair of Tygh Valley, OR, Robert (Mary) Sinclair of Vicksburg, and Kathryn Jennings of Centralia, MO. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Etta Sinclair and siblings Eugene Sinclair and Rosetta Sinclair. The family will recieve friends at there home 3982 V Ave. in Vicksburg from 1-4 on Saturday July 12, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Hospice.
