Jane Frances Markus

Jane Frances (Bourgeois) Markus age 80 born February 24, 1935 of Kalamazoo died January 15, 2016. Born to Edwards F Bourgeois Sr. and Margaret (Fitzpatrick)Bourgeois in Kalamazoo. Graduated from St. Augustine's Catholic School. On November 5, 1955 was united in marriage to Harold John Markus Jr. in Kalamazoo. Together they had six children. She was a housewife, then worked as a housekeeper and later worked for an attorney. After husband's retirement they moved to Austin, TX and together managed a trailer park. After the death of her husband she returned to Kalamazoo to be closer to family. She worked in a daycare and food service until her illness forced her to retire. Preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandson Todd Copeland. She is survived by her children Catherine (Mike) Dorko, Steven (Cindy) Markus, Margaret Ashbaugh, Jacqualyn (Brian) Kahlmorgan, Patricia (Wally) Shattuck and Michael (Candy) Markus, 17 grandchildren, and 12 great-children. Two sisters Maryann Himes and Barbara (Richard) Huis, brother Edward (Mary) Bourgeois Jr. and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. There will a Catholic mass held 11:00am on January 22nd at St. John Bosco's Parish in Mattawan. Everyone is invited to a Celebration of Life at the church community center.
