Jane Elizabeth Mohney

Jane Mohney Jane Elizabeth Mohney went to be with her Lord Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Crystal Woods Memory Care. She was surrounded by her family and we thank the Staff of Crystal Woods for their loving and professional care that they gave to her during the last year and a half of her life. Jane was born on October 2, 1934 to Elmer and Mary Boekeloo in Kalamazoo, where she lived all of her life. She was preceded in death by her brother Bill and her sister Leah and she is survived by her brother Phil and his wife Charlene. June 7, 1952 Jane married John W. Mohney, who survives her, along with 4 sons and their wives, John A. and Barbara, Ron and Michelle, Jim and Jodi, and Tom and Kerry. Jane also has 19 grandkids and 22 great-grandkids and several nieces and nephews and cousins. During her life she raised a family, worked at Gilmore's Department Store, worked in Birth Records at Bronson Hospital, volunteered through Forgotten Man Ministries at the Kalamazoo County Jail, and she was a lifelong member of the Kalamazoo Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing with her husband and her boys and enjoyed vacations on the lake with her family. Although we are mourning her loss we rejoice in the memory of her life. We loved her very much and were happy when we spent time with her and Dad. A "Celebration of Jane's Life" will be held on Saturday, April 11 at 11:00 in the morning at the Kalamazoo Free Methodist Church on 931 West Maple Street. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations may be made to the Kalamazoo Free Methodist Church, Crystal Woods Memory Care, or to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
