Janet Lee Noel

Janet Noel of Vicksburg, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the age of 89.  Janet was born November 13, 1932 to Theodore and Iva (Welch) Zimmerman.  She graduated from Vicksburg high School in 1950. Janet worked in benefits for the paper mill and then Upjohn. She married Vernon Noel in 1950.

Janet is survived by her husband of 72 years, Vernon; her children: Walter Noel, Wayne Noel, Terri Solomon, Sherry (Kevin Chesser) Shoemaker and Steve (Gaylee) Noel; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five siblings as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.

Janet was a golfer and bowled.  She liked outdoor games and just about any card game. She quilted and sewed but most of all loved to spend time with her family. She was a long-time member of the Vicksburg United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed traveling visiting many states and countries.  She will be deeply missed.

Visit with family and friends on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Vicksburg United Methodist Church; 217 S. Main Street in Vicksburg.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 p.m. at the same location.

Memorial contributions can be made in Janet’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
