Jeffery C. Kudary, of Vicksburg, passed away on Tuesday, July16, 2024 at the age of 76. Many of Jeff’s closest friends knew him by his nicknames: “Homer” or “Paudie”. He leaves a legacy of hard work, dedication to his family, and loyalty. Born on October 24, 1947, in Sturgis, MI. He was the son of Joseph and Clara (Ramsdell) Kudary. Jeff led a fulfilling life that touched the hearts of many.
He attended Climax-Scotts schools and proudly graduated from Climax-Scotts High School with the Class of 1965. In school Jeff excelled in football, baseball, basketball, and track.
In1963, Jeff's life took a beautiful turn when he crossed paths with Mary Ann Shirah. Mary Ann lived in Vicksburg, so many of miles were traveled between the two towns, on his Cushman Eagle scooter to go see the love of his life. They married on March 6, 1965. Together they built a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering support for each other—a union that stood the test of time. Together they had four sons: Tim, Jeff, Jason, and Jamie.
Jeff dedicated 36 years of his life to being a pipefitter. He worked for the Upjohn Company which later became known as Pfizer. His commitment to work was commendable, he was recognized for contributions with the prestigious Upjohn Award—a testament to skill and dedication and work ethic.
Beyond his achievements, Jeff will be remembered for the laughter he brought to his family and friends. Jeff enjoyed his time playing golf and spending time with his friends on the golf league. He also enjoyed bowling and playing cornhole and horseshoes. He was known for his skills in roasting a pig, cooking on the grill and taco parties. He also enjoyed woodworking and feeding the birds. Jeff wasn’t one that enjoyed flying, so they stayed closer to home by camping in northern Michigan. He and Mary Ann did have some memorable trips however to Germany and Hawaii.
Jeff is also described as kind, loving, loyal, hilarious, and a great storyteller. Also, for his strong-willed nature and exceptional work ethic admired by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jeff is preceded in death by his grandson: Tyler Thomas Kudary; parents: Joseph and Clara Kudary and his sister: Sharon Eldred.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann; four sons: Tim (Leslie) Kudary, of Vicksburg; Jeff (Jessica) Kudary, of TN; Jason (Amy) Kudary, of Traverse City; and Jamie (Matt Newton) Kudary, of VA; six grandchildren: Cooper (Jacqueline) Kudary, of Grandville; Caleb Kudary, of Kalamazoo; Carlie Kudary, of IN; Jade Rico, of TN; Kellan and Macaire Kudary of Traverse City. He is also survived by his siblings: Joe Kudary, of Scotts; and Denise (Brian) Murray, of AZ; one brother-in-law: Rich Eldred, of Scotts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeff has been cremated and the family intends to have a Celebration of his Life will be held at Indian Run Golf Course on Friday, September 20, 2024 as an open house from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The family hopes that you will join them in sharing a funny story or a favorite memory along with some drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
