Jeffrey Paul Klimek

Jeffrey Paul Klimek of Portage, MI passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 17, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA the son of Elmer and Virginia (Clevenger) Klimek. Jeff graduated from Portage High School in 1965. On August 14, 1970 he married the love of his life: Anne Banner, from that marriage two children were born into this world. He graduated from Western Michigan University with his bachelor's degree in 1970 and his master’s in 1972. Following graduation he began his professional career at First of America Bank in Kalamazoo and National City in Cleveland, retiring in 2005 as Senior Vice President in Corporate Marketing. He was also a 20 year member of the Kiwanis club. Jeff loved playing numerous sports but especially basketball, golf, tennis, and table tennis. Jeff is preceded in his passing by his parents; and brothers-in-law: Tom Banner and Joe Banner; sister-in-law: Harriett Banner. Left to cherish Jeff’s memory are his wife of 50 years: Anne (Banner) Klimek; children: Derrek (Carlye) Klimek and Ericca (Ben Dalla) Klimek; grandchildren: Olivia and Jack Klimek; siblings: Pam (Bruce) Wiegand, Mark Klimek, and JoAnn (Pat) Stevens; in-laws: Maryella (Bill) Woodhams, Jane (Tom) Sabel, Jim (Pat) Banner, Ila Banner, Ginny (Jim) Handy, Collette Banner, Chris (Mary) Banner, Betsy (Pete) Palasinski, and Margaret Banner; and 33 nieces and nephews. In accordance with Jeff’s wish cremation has taken place and no public services will be held.
