Jeff Schoenfeld died peacefully on March 20, 2013 after a long and brave battle with cancer. He passed at the age of 55 in Portage, Michigan while at home with his family. He will be missed but never forgotten.
Jeff was born in St. Joseph, Michigan to Demetra and Elmer Schoenfeld in 1958. He is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Janete Schoenfeld of Portage, MI, his son Nicholas Schoenfeld of South Bend, IN, and his daughter Taylor of Mishawaka, IN. His siblings include Gary Schoenfeld of Baltimore, MD, Greg Schoenfeld of Vandalia MI, and Karen Kyle of Vandalia, MI. He also had 3 grandchildren at the time of his passing, Alyssa, Nathan, and Mckenna. Let us not forget his favorite pooch in the world...Daisy. He was a devout father, grandfather, and husband and he provided for his family while sacrificing so very much to make sure they were taken care of. He was a true gentleman and a person who put others before himself throughout the course of his life. His friends were also a huge part of his family, and they stood by his side till the very end. His family is forever grateful to all friends and family who did so very much for him during his final years of sickness.
Jeff loved to fish, root for the Irish, play parlor games, and hang out around the water whether man made or lakeside while relaxing and soaking up life. He worked in the insurance field for most of his life and was a top earner year in and year out. Through hard work and dedication he helped to provide so very much to his family during his 55 years on this earth. We are all better for having had him in our lives.
