John Robert Berry

BERRY, John Robert "Jack" Kalamazoo John (Jack) passed away July 10, 2010 peacefully and gracefully in the comfort of his home with support of family who cared deeply for him. He was born Jan. 25, 1934 in Batavia, New York, the son of Fred and Helen (Putnam) Berry. Jack was a graduate of Alexander, NY Central High School and attended DePauw University in Greencastle, IN. He was a member of the USAF from 1953 to 1963 in Air Traffic Control. After leaving the Air Force Jack went to work for Union Pump Co. in Battle Creek. He retired in 1997 after 34 years of service. His duties there ranged from manufacturing clerk to National Sales Manager. Jack is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lee Ann (Drury) Berry. His first wife Maryruth W. (Covey) Berry preceded him in death in 1990. His sons: John R. Jr. of St. Joseph, MI, Robley F. of Battle Creek, daughters; Marjorie L. Jusick of Battle Creek, Nancy Ann Barr of Davidson, and Michael Roberta Fahl of Kalamazoo, 9 fantastic (his words) grandchildren, and his brother; Thomas of West Columbia, TX and his children, 10 Putnam cousins and their children. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will take place at a later date. Burial of cremains will also be private. Arrangements by Avink Funeral Home Cremation Society
