John Connell

John David Connell, born on November 12, 1976, in Hoffman Estates, IL, passed away on September 5, 2024, in Kalamazoo, MI. He was the beloved son of Frank Connell and DeLois McNew.

John attended Hoffman Estates High School and graduated in 1995. After graduation, he began his career as a claims adjuster. On September 21, 2002, John married Michelle Jackson in Schaumburg, IL. Together, they blended their families, with Michelle's son, Matthew, and soon welcomed their sons, Ryan, born in March 2003, and William in 2004. John's devotion to his family was evident in his love for watching his sons play football, and he even coached William's team, sharing his passion for the game.

He was an active member of his community while living in Belvidere, IL. In June 2017, John and his family relocated to Vicksburg, MI, where they embraced a quieter life, focusing on each other and creating new memories.

John was a movie buff with a special love for Top Gun and spent many evenings watching films with his brother. From Blockbuster to Redbox and eventually Netflix, movies were a beloved pastime. John also cherished his pets: his dogs Jack and Ollie, and his cat Lil' B, who brought him comfort and joy.

John will be remembered for his selflessness, always putting others before himself. He was a reliable man who friends and family could always count on. His kindness and dedication to his loved ones left an indelible mark on those who knew him.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Connell and DeLois McNew, and his son, Matthew Jackson. He is survived by his sons, Ryan and William Connell, his lifelong partner Michelle Jackson, and his brothers.

A burial service will be held at Vicksburg Cemetery on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. to honor John's life and legacy. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by his family and friends.
