John M Garcia, III, 77 of Three Rivers, Michigan passed away Wednesday, October 7th, 2020 at Grace Health Care, Three Rivers, MI.
John was born in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan on February 1, 1943 the son of John Manuel Garcia and Mildred Christine Garcia who preceded him in death.
John was an EMT for Pride Care, Mall City, and a member of the Lawton Quick Response Team. He was also a volunteer firefighter and EMT for the Marcellus Fire and Ambulance Department for over 40 years.
John’s great love was watching his children and grandchildren play sports and attending all their extracurricular activities over the years. He also coached baseball, softball, and basketball. John was an avid Cubs and Bears fan as well.
John is survived by his ex-wife and loving friend, Sue Garcia, five Daughters; Cindy (Dwight) Hetmansperger of Three Rivers, Patti (Terry) Raver of Three Rivers, Debbie (Ken Gerenda) Garcia of Kalamazoo, Chrissy (Bryant Athey) Vantilburg of Marcellus, forever son-in-law, Jason Vantilburg, and Karen (Gayl) Ferguson of Marcellus. 2 Sisters; Sharon Morgan of FL, and Donna Focht of Three Rivers. 2 Brothers; Robert (Pat) Garcia of Vicksburg, and Mike Garcia of Indiana. 16 Grandchildren; Justice Hetmansperger, Jenna (Aaron) Olson, Jace (Michelle) Raver, Shane Raver, Cassidy Raver (Josh Hill), Braden Raver, MacKenzie Raver (David Ri’chard), Morgan Bultman, Seth Vantilburg, Callie Garcia, Mathew Garcia, Jaxon Vantilburg, Brooklyn Vantilburg, Brady Ferguson, Beau Ferguson, and Nani Ferguson. 3 Great Grandchildren; Lucy Olson, David Ri’chard, III, and Hayden Bultman. Honorary grandchildren; Kaley and Ryan Athey of Decatur and many special nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his Parents, Son, Johnny Garcia, Brother, Jimmy Garcia, Sister, Millie Pierce, and In-Laws, Lee & Hy Wohl.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October, 25th 2020. The family will receive visitors from 1-3pm, with the Memorial Service at 3pm at the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, 52780 M-40 North, Marcellus. Memorial donations may be made to the Marcellus Athletic Boosters.
