JAMESON, Jon Francis
Plainwell
Passed away May 5, 2014 at Borgess Hospital due to complications from a stroke. Jon was born April 15, 1935, went to country school until 9th grade, then Plainwell High School. In school he played 4 years varsity football, lifted weights and boxed all while being coached by the best and finest coach Jack Streidl. While in high school Jon found his forever love and forever friend Shirley M. Dee. Jon's mother Ethel and father Edgar preceded him in death, the love of his life Shirley on Dec. 19, 1995, brothers, Bill 1996 and Doug 2009, sister-in-law Gerri, brother-in-law Kenneth, grandsons Aaron K. Gee and Jon B. Jameson and a very good friend Dick Brenner. Jon enjoyed his old tractors and Model A's. Working on them, driving them and going to car shows, and car sales with his wonderful friend June. Together they traveled many miles. Jon bought cars in South Carolina and Arizona and others in Michigan. Always tinkering, restoring and selling them in anticipation of his next model A. Jon and June enjoyed their lifetime membership at the Gilmore Car Museum. Jon is survived by his 5 children, Jan A. of Plainwell, Timothy J. (Teri) of Plainwell, Dawn M. (Rex) of Holland, Diane L. (Clay) of Bloomingdale, Jack D. (Cathy) of Allegan, many grandchildren, many great grandchildren, all of whom he loved and cherished until his death. We are honoring Dad's wishes and in a private gathering interring his ashes alongside his wife Shirley. Jon was a very generous, funny, loving, caring, sometimes gruff man. We are blessed to have had him and grateful to God for although sudden but very short suffering in passing. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or services at this time.
