OLNEY, JOSEPH E. III of Vicksburg/Schoolcraft, age 66, passed away February 12, 2021, at home of congestive heart failure/COPD. He was born November 6, 1954 to Joseph E. Olney II and Patricia (Cousins) Olney-Ross. Being raised in the Vicksburg/Fulton area with 4 siblings and a number of neighbor kids, he had become quite the prankster and loved scary movies. He had worked most of his life as a machinist/welder with various companies and retiring eventually on disability due to problems with his spina bifida and heart. He married Christine Ludwig-Rodriquez in 1989 and helped raise her two daughters. He was an avid morel mushroom hunter and fisherman and he loved cars.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his mother, father, a step-granddaughter, and a niece and nephew. Surviving are his step-daughters, Wendy and Heather Rodriquez, Wendy's son Caleb Sugden, Heather's children Jace and HarLeigh, a step-great grandson Leigham Sugden, brother Michael (Kim) Olney, sisters Judy Noel, Beverly (Thomas) Compton, and Deborah (Charles) Rife, and step-brothers Terry (Karin Thorne) Ross and Thomas Ross.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Joseph may be to:
