Juanita Naomi Ball

Juanita N. Ball, age 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 9th, 2013 at Valley View Nursing Center in Montoursville PA. She had been a resident there since 2010. She is survived by her husband, Wendell, who resides in the adjacent facility, the Meadows Assisted Living Center. Juanita was born on May 12, 1919, in Lawrence, Michigan. She married Wendell on November 24, 1938, and they celebrated their 74th anniversary last Thanksgiving Day. They devoted many years to developing their home, Eureka, in Paw Paw, Michigan. Eureka! Is now part of the Southwestern Michigan Nature Conservancy. Juanita worked as a beautician and upon retirement she and Wendell traveled extensively. Eventually they settled in southern Texas. In 2008 they moved to Pennsylvania to be close to family. In addition to her beloved husband, Juanita is survived by three daughters. Wendy McCormick (Marty) of Jersey Shore, PA, Phylleri Ball (Gregory Pais) of Trout Run, PA and Annette Ball (Tom Schneider) of Santa Rosa, CA. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. A family gathering celebrating Juanita's life and love was held on Sunday, Feb. 10th. She will always be remembered for her devotion to her husband and family and for her love of cooking.
