Kathleen Leone Brogan

Kathleen L. Brogan of Plainwell, MI went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the age of 70. She was born on January 26, 1952, in Kalamazoo, MI. The youngest daughter of Bill and Marian (Mason) Whitehead.

She graduated from Plainwell High School in 1970.  Following graduation she met the love of her life, William Patrick Brogan III. On June 9, 1973, they were United in marriage at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kalamazoo.  Settling in Plainwell, together they raised three children together. Jessaca (Mark) of Galesburg, Patrick (Kari) of Onsted and Sean (Jocelyn) of Galesburg. Kathy was a very accomplished artist with a successful career that spanned over 4 decades. She did numerous showings of her work across the state as well as nationwide. Everyone especially looked forward to her yearly private art showing to see her beautiful wildlife paintings and sample her delicious cooking.  A true humanitarian in that she used her artistic success to help not only those in need, but several conservation organizations as well.

Kathy was most happy at home in her kitchen cooking and entertaining family, friends, and her beloved grandchildren. She was the gatherer in the family and brought everyone together for reunions and parties on numerous occasions. She passed her love of art, the outdoors, gardening, cooking and most importantly, God on to her three children and grandchildren.

Kathy was loved by many and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Marian Whitehead. Siblings David, Harvey, Billy, Tissy, Susan, Barbara, Judy and Janet. She is survived by her husband Pat Brogan of Plainwell, her three children and grandchildren Mitchell, Reed, Carley, Brooke, Ruthi, Gavin, Parker, Cole, Mason, Karis and Alex. Her brother, John (Carol) Whitehead of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, and sister Chris (David) Russel of Ferndale, Arkansas. As well as several loving nieces and nephews.
