Kathryn (Kathy) Steppenwolf passed away on October 24, 2021 at the age of 74. Kathy was born on April 10, 1947 in Kalamazoo, MI to Charles and Betty (Jones) Carpenter.
Kathy graduated from Parchment High School in 1965 and held various positions throughout Kalamazoo county- including Goodwill stores, Borgess Hospital, and the Eastside Community Center.
Kathy enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, watching and discussing soap operas with her sister Valery, the Lion King, and, above all else, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, brother (Chuck), son (Bruce), son-in-law (Ron), brother-in-law (Dan), and niece (Donna). She is survived by siblings; Valery, Pam (Bert), Frank (Gail), children; Todd (Audrey), Craig, Patti (Mark), eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, cousins, and many lifelong friends.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest with her son, Bruce. Pastor Jim Dyke will be officiating a graveside service Friday, October 29, 2021 at Riverside cemetery at 1pm located at lot HH (entrance near Borgess Hospital) with luncheon to follow.
Kathy will be missed by all. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, her unwavering loyalty, her drive to listen and help those around her, and her fierce protectiveness of those she loved.
