Kay Francis Bagley of Parchment passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024 at the age of 86. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and cherished friend Born on July 25, 1938, Kay lived a life rich in love and dedication to her family.
Kay's formative years were spent in Kalamazoo, Michigan, after her family relocated from Mystic, Iowa when she was only 13 so that her father and brother could get jobs in the paper mills. She attended Kalamazoo Public Schools, where her kindness and spirit began to shine. Following her education, she devoted herself to her family, prioritizing the care and nurturing of her children.
Kay's marriage to Kendall Bagley stands as one of her proudest accomplishments. They were united in love on November 1, 1954, a bond that beautifully encapsulated the essence of partnership and companionship. Together, they created a loving home.
For many years, Kay took joy in babysitting jobs until her children grew, providing a loving environment that reflected her deep commitment to family values.
After her children reached adulthood, Kay embraced another chapter in her professional life by joining Borgess Medical Center in 1977 as a control clerk. In this role, she continued to demonstrate her strong work ethic and commitment to helping others, traits that characterized her entire life.
Family was the center of Kay’s universe. Her unwavering dedication was reflected not only in her relationship with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, but also in her love for her pets. Kay found great joy in the company of her Scottie's and Yorkie's, whose companionship added to the richness of her life. She loved crocheting, cooking, rides in the car with family, humming birds, and her flowers.
Kay will be remembered not only for her nurturing spirit and love of family but also for the legacy of kindness she imparted on all who had the privilege to know her. Her memory will be cherished by her loved ones and the community she so dearly touched throughout her lifetime.
